Day 3 Results – JS Sports Development and Representative Carnival
An early start to day three of the JS Sports Development and Representative Carnival saw bright sunshine welcoming the teams to Mike Kenny Oval. The Under 9’s took the field first, kicking off the day with five matches being played simultaneously to the applause of an eager crowd with hot coffees in hand and beanies on heads.
The Under 9’s set the bar high and maintained their enthusiasm with smiles matching the warm glow of the readily awaited sunshine. City West took out the competition with an undefeated result followed closely by the North – Red team.
The Under 10’s didn’t disappoint and made sure their regions were well represented. City central displayed top goal scorers with a total of 211 points scored for their team and winning their age competition.
Monday was the biggest day, as there was also Under 11’s and 12’s in the afternoon. The Under 11’s saw the fields fill with talent as the players intensity stepped up. The eventual winners were the City – West team, who went through the round of games scoring a huge 119 points whilst conceding only 19 against.
To cap off the weekend were the Under 12’s who continued to work hard despite the skies getting dark and the flash of the floodlights turning on. The Red and White of South, managed to sit atop the table after five grueling games, without losing a single fixture.
It was an excellent day of footy to end what has been a massive three days of competition. We have had 70 teams compete in over 150 games of fantastic footy. A massive congratulation must go out to the management team at Westbrook for their delivery of the event. From the canteen staff to the field managers and officials, they have been extremely accommodating to the footballing cohort.
We wish to see you all next year for another amazing edition of the Junior Development and Representative Carnival.
