Boys Open Division 1

Knox Grammar School v St Aloysius College (North Narrabeen Reserve, Saturday 5th June 12:00pm)

This weeks Opens Division 1 Match of the Round features the strongly suited Knox Grammar School going up against St Aloysius College. In their second meet of the season, Knox will look to come out strong again after defeating St Aloysius in their first match up.

Knox will look to continue their form into Round 7 after a win over Waverley’s first side last week. With talent spread across the field, Will Blackburn (Image 1) and Pat Bolger (Image 2) will be the players to watch in this Round 7 match up. Knox’s Ruckman, Will Blackburn is in his third season, known to be a smart footballer who is capable of winning his own footy. His versatility as a tall playing around the ground has allowed him to show his skills. following up his work at a ground level. On baller, Pat Bolger is also in his third season of Knox’s first XVIII. Pat is a contested ball winner and a very good user of the footy. He often stands tall as an inside mid, playing a key role in the movement of the ball.

St Aloysius will be looking to bounce back after a significant loss to St Ignatius last week. The talented side are looking to add their third win of the season in a tough hit out against the strong Knox this weekend.

Boys Opens Division 2

Trinity College v Shore School (ELS Hall #3, Saturday 5th June 11:00am)

This weeks Opens Division 2 Match of the Round features Trinity College going up against the competitive Shore School.

Trinity are coming off a hard fought loss last week against St Ignatius 2 and will be looking for a win this weekend. Trinity’s Vice-Captain, Nicholas Enno will be the player to watch in Round 7. Nicholas is a ruck rover who rests forward and regularly kicks goals. He Provides immense defensive pressure, with diving tackles and smothers when in the midfield, to complement his strong overhead marking ability and agility out of contests.

Shore look to hold form in their match up against Trinity this weekend after a convincing win over Waverley 2. This week’s captain, Alexei Stewart will be the player to watch in this thrilling match. Alexei is relatively short in stature, but with a big heart. He is a versatile player who can play anywhere and is  very strong over the ball and an accurate goal kicker when up forward.

Prediction: Trinity to get their 1st win of the season defeating Shore by 8 points
