2019 JS Sports Development and Representative Carnival
The 2019 JS Sports Juniors Representative and Development carnival has a new home. The team at the South West Tigers have taken up the opportunity to host this years edition with a change of venue bringing with it a new age group and three action packed days of Junior Footy.
South West Tigers Club, President Kellie Hohnen is looking forward to the three-day carnival, showcasing some of the best Juniors players in the state.
“We are extremely happy to be hosting the JS Sports Development and Representative Carnival this year,” said Hohnen.
“We are lucky enough to have the facilities, volunteers and local support to host an event like this and can’t wait to show wider AFL Sydney community what we are made of.”
The three-day Carnival will encapsulate a new age group with the inclusion of the Under-16 Youth Girls age group. The growth of Female football in the state, particularly in Sydney, has driven the carnival to now have five distinctive girls age groups, to go alongside the eight juniors’ boys age groups.
Over the off-season break, AFL Sydney consulted with a group of representatives from the Western Sydney and Harbour competitions to discuss the layout of age groups and nomination protocol. From this discussion, the group unanimously decided to change the Under-11 and Under-12 age groups in to trial age groups, rather than club nominations age groups. Therefore, all players from the Under-11 to Under-18 Youth Girls age groups, will have the opportunity to trial for the 2019 team in their respective region. For the Under-9 and Under-10 age groups (Youth Girls inclusive), club presidents have received information regarding player allocations for certain teams, and therefore there is no form these age groups.

Cost: $125 per player.
Inclusions: All players receive: Shorts, Socks, Hoodie and Participation medal.
