Good for Footy Raffle and Volunteer Awards launch for 2023

The Toyota Good for Footy Raffle returns in 2023 giving community clubs around the country the opportunity to raise funds as part of a program that has delivered more than $9 million to grassroots football.

Last year Toyota helped 629 local clubs raise more than $1 million and this year the aim is to go even bigger, with clubs encouraged to use the program to have a strong start to the season through fundraising.

Community clubs can easily register and sell tickets for $5 each, with a $250,000 prize pool on offer comprising 35 prizes, including a Toyota Kluger Hybrid, Toyota Corolla Cross and Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid.

The launch of Toyota’s biggest grassroots fundraising opportunity, now in its ninth year, coincides with the annual Toyota Good for Footy Round – the upcoming Round Seven fixture of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season, to played across the weekend of April 28-30.

A number of AFL stars have been selected to visit local clubs and help them kick-start their 2023 seasons, including Brodie Smith and Rory Laird (Henley Sharks FC, SA), Toby Greene (St George Dragons, NSW), Alex Pearce (Kingsley Junior FC, WA) and Jack Sinclair (Kew Comets FC, Vic). As part of the program, Toyota is donating $2,000 to each of these clubs and they will also receive 10 tickets to an AFL match during Good for Footy Round.

Toyota have also invited two South Australian community clubs that have participated in the Good for Footy Raffle (Kilburn FC and Gepps Cross FC) to attend the marquee match of Toyota Good for Footy Round – the Adelaide v Collingwood blockbuster at Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon.

2023 Toyota AFL National Volunteer Awards

As part of Toyota’s support for grassroots footy and volunteers across Australia, the Toyota AFL National Volunteer Awards are back in 2023 with an expanded set of categories to recognise and reward more people who drive the success of community clubs. An overall national winner will be selected and will take home a brand-new Toyota Hilux.

The annual awards recognise volunteers across Australia who have made outstanding contributions to community football. All NAB AFL Auskick centres, schools, community clubs and leagues in each state and territory are invited to participate, with more than 1000 nominations received nationally in 2022.

Scott Flynn from the St Patrick’s Old Collegians Football Club in northern Tasmania was the national Community Football Volunteer of the Year last year, the top honour as part of the 2022 Toyota AFL National Volunteer Awards.

Each of the national category winners receives a ‘Grand Final Experience’ including tickets to attend the 2023 Toyota AFL Grand Final, as well as three nights accommodation.

Nominations are open and can be submitted up until July 10, 2023 and can be made via play.afl/clubhelp
